Fort Lauderdale will come alive on March 11th with a huge Irish Fest to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Irish heritage. The majority of the festivities will take place at Bubier Park and down Las Olas Blvd. Start the day with a race, live music and a drum line competition at the Huizenga Plaza at Bubier Park. This spacious New River waterfront park is home to anything and everything that's fun and exciting going on in Fort Lauderdale. It is a wonderful venue for the Irish Fest!
At noon, head over to Las Olas Blvd where the city has painted it with a green stripe to celebrate the day and enjoy an exciting parade! The parade will flow along Las Olas Blvd from SE 5th Avenue to the Riverfront. The parade will be sure to please everyone in the family with pipe & Drum corps, 100 floats, classic cars, bagpipers, marching bands, animals, street performers, local scout troops, sports teams, and veterans groups!
After the parade, the "Fest" part of the event takes place at Huzienga Plaza in Bubier Park (again) with live band performances, dancing, a kids fun zone, stilt walkers, exhibitor booths, souvenirs and plenty of Irish food and drinks. Make this St. Patty's Day really memorable for the entire family whether you are Irish or just Irish curious! Put on your green and buy your Lotto ticket just in case the Luck of the Irish rubs off on you!
